Percival Lafer MP-41 Lounge Chair
CA$ 4,000.00 CAD

Percival Lafer is one of the most prolific Brazilian furniture designers starting in the  early 1960s to the mid-1980s. Born in 1936, he graduated with a degree in Architecture from Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo. He began designing furniture in 1961. His vision was to "bring good design to everyone, not just the intellectual elite" with modern, well-made pieces that were mass-produced. "Percival’s furniture not only captured the modern aesthetic of the moment, but was exquisitely crafted using gorgeous, solid hardwoods that were novel to U.S. consumers." With burnished leather upholstery and meticulous finishing details, Lafer’s pieces were also sold in Western Europe and Scandinavia.

This rare green MP-41 chair is in good condition given it's 1960's vintage and all original wood and leather. Aside from a few scratches the wood is in exceptional condition. The leather too is in good condition with some great patina. It has 1 small rip, and the back leather straps need to be fixed which is very common with these.
